D486 is widely used in the flotation of nonferrous and precious metal ores, such as copper, gold, copper-gold, and lead-zinc ores, and serves as an effective alternative to Cytec 636/633.

Principles and Effects

D486 works by selectively targeting graphite, organic carbon, and free carbon, rendering their surfaces highly hydrophilic. This prevents these carbonaceous materials from adsorbing reagents, competing in flotation, or covering the surfaces of target minerals. As a result, target minerals can efficiently interact with collectors, allowing for effective recovery. This process not only improves the concentrate grade and recovery rate of target minerals but also reduces the necessary amounts of collectors and frothers.

  • Packaging: Available in 25 kg bags and 750 kg bulk bags.
  • Usage and Dosage: The recommended concentration of the prepared solution is less than 3%. It is added during flotation, typically in the mixing tank, flotation cell, or ball mill. Suggested dosages range from 50 to 1000 grams per ton of raw ore.
  • Preparation Method:
    1. Add water to the mixing bucket and begin stirring.
    2. Slowly introduce the D486 reagent into the water, ensuring full dispersion.
    3. Continue stirring for 1-2 hours until the reagent is fully dissolved in the water.
